What you'll learn
Firearm Safety & Storage

Safety is the absolute priority. You will learn essential safe firearm handling techniques and the correct storage procedures strictly aligned with the Firearms Control Act. We cover the prevention of accidental discharges and the specific legal requirements for transporting firearms safely.

Shooting Fundamentals

Accuracy and control are critical. We teach the core mechanics of grip, stance, and trigger control, alongside rapid target acquisition and aiming. You will participate in practical live-fire training designed to significantly improve your accuracy, groupings, and overall shooting confidence.

Legal Responsibilities

Understanding your legal obligations as a firearm owner is non-negotiable. We detail the strict requirements of the Firearms Control Act, the responsibilities placed on firearm owners, the rules governing safe public and private use, and the severe offences and penalties related to firearm misuse.

Safe Handling & Operation

You need to be able to operate your firearm smoothly, even under stress. We train you in correct, safe loading and unloading procedures, malfunction clearance drills (clearing jams), and the practical, operational use of the firearm under various environmental conditions.

Professional Outcome

Upon successful completion of this programme, you will receive a SAPS-accepted firearm competency certificate. This serves as the mandatory, nationwide proof of training required for all firearm license applications in South Africa. You will leave with the definitive skills, confidence, and legal knowledge required to safely and legally use a firearm for personal protection or within the security industry.

Professional Outcome

Graduates leave fully equipped to work confidently as CCTV Operators, Control Room Officers, Surveillance Operators, and Monitoring Centre Agents. You will thoroughly understand how to operate complex surveillance systems, respond to incidents professionally, and uphold the highest standards of security communication.
